12 of the World's Craziest Mazes

Today we gathered a list of the worlds most intense and craziest mazes! Would you dare to get lost in one? 

5 - Vertical Maze Tower of Dubai This skyscraper can be found inside the heart of Dubai's financial district and spans 57 stories tall. The balconies, which outline the buildings apartments and offices, are comprised of stone and are stationed throughout the building's outer walls to comprise the world's largest vertical maze, as recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2015. The asymmetrical balconies are lit up in LED colors at night to illuminate the intricate designer maze. It's meant to appear carved out of rock with the constant play of light and shadow at work to make the building appear alive. There are 24 floors for residential living, 25 floors for offices, a garden floor situated in the middle, a rooftop maze patterned garden above the standalone car park, with the other floors serving as additional garages. The vertical maze can be seen on the front and back of the building, at the top of the tower is the Maze Eye, an eight-meter wide circular video wall which beams images at great distances. At night the maze has been known to play with its led lights, even creating Pac-Man characters racing between the lines.

4 - aMAZEme This next maze is composed of literature, 250,000 stacked new and used books to be exact. The installation was constructed in roughly four days with over 50 volunteers, the walls made of books is approximately 2.5 meters tall and can be found inside London, England in the Southbank Centre. The layout of the books is designed to represent the fingerprints of J. L. Borges, an Argentine writer whose interconnected short stories are best known for themes like dreams, labyrinths, mirrors and philosophy. The installation is designed to make one lose themselves in books, something which the Brazilian artists who first conceived the idea were trying to spread.

3 - The Tangled Maze This next maze full of adventure and escape hails from Victoria, Australia and is one of the prettiest, designed by horticulturists, this labyrinth is comprised mainly of flowers. This botanical maze is planted with 1,000s of climbing and twining plants such as jasmine, honeysuckle, roses and ornamental grapes which change per season. The 1.4 kilometers of pathways and 2 meter high hedges will keep you guessing as you navigate your way through the dense folds of flowers and leaves. As well as the maze, this family fun center also includes Mini Golf, Giant Chess, an indoor rope course and Amaz n' Ice, an indoor ice skating rink meant for year round fun. There is a cafe which offers treats, coffee and tea wherein you can indulge yourself and take your snack with you into the perfume filled maze of flowery fun.

2 - Amazing Mirror Maze From the Mall of America, which is located inside Bloomington, Minnesota, is this amazing experience which is hailed as one of the biggest mirror mazes on the entire planet. This crazy labyrinth can be found next to the food court and spans roughly 2,500 square feet with endless hallways, infinite reflections and an intense journey through glass and mirrors, this intricate maze is a unique twist on an old funhouse classic. There are glow and the dark rooms, brightly painted colors and patterns line the walls, mind-bending glass meant to confuse and delight as well as lit up designs like fireworks blasting through corridors which may or may not exist. Fun for the whole family, this Wonderland of mirrors changes colors through lighting, plays fun music and is as confusing as it is fun.

1 - Samsø Labyrinten In the Northern World of Denmark lives the world's largest permanent maze with 60,000 square meters converted from an old field of Christmas trees. The elaborate labyrinth spans a length of more than 5.5 kilometers, bordered by more than 50,000 trees and bushes. Carved from existing woodland, this maze utilises pathways of fully grown trees allowing the traveller to feel like they are wandering through a forest. In the center lies a Temple, there's also a tribute to Danish author Hans Christian Anderson lurking somewhere inside the folds of foliage, as well as eight objectives inside the maze which include the Square of Hearts, Square of Eternity and the Owl's Hollow. 25 species of birds and animals dwell inside the labyrinth which contains T-junctions which each comprise a riddle which you must answer in order to find your way through the twists and turns of this crazy big maze.
